Installation and fitting

Air conditioning installation in Prague

Whether an installation is feasible does not depend on the unit itself. It depends on the pipe route, where the outdoor unit may be placed, and who must approve it.

Air conditioning installation is not just about hanging a unit on the wall. It involves deciding where to route the refrigerant piping and condensate drainage, where to place the outdoor unit so it does not cause disturbance while still having sufficient space for heat dissipation, and whether all this requires approval from the building owner or heritage authorities. In central Prague, it is precisely these aspects that determine whether the installation can proceed at all.

How installation is carried out

1
On-site inspection

We will inspect the premises, calculate the thermal load, determine the pipe route and locate the outdoor unit. Without this, any quote is merely an estimate.

2
Design and quotation

We will design the unit type and capacity, route and installation method. Our offer includes labour, materials and commissioning: not just the price of the box.

3
Paperwork when required

In a residential building, consent from the owner or the building's owners' association is required; in a heritage zone, an opinion from the heritage authorities is needed. We prepare the documentation; the discussion proceeds through you as the owner.

4
In-house installation

For standard installation, one day. We drill with dust extraction, cover the area and clean up afterwards.

5
Commissioning and handover

Vacuuming of the circuit, tightness test, operator training and handover of documentation including the warranty certificate.

Special considerations for air conditioning in central Prague

Prague 1 to 7 has its own specifics that do not apply elsewhere:

What units we install

Wall-mounted split units

The most common solution for offices, medical practices or shops. One outdoor and one indoor unit, quick installation, good performance-to-price ratio.

Multisplits

One outdoor unit can serve several rooms. This makes sense where there is no space for more outdoor units, which is almost always the case in the city centre.

Cassette and ceiling cassette units

For larger spaces with suspended ceilings, meeting rooms, consulting offices, business premises. They distribute air more evenly than wall-mounted units and are less visible.

What to watch out for with cheap offers. Most often, they lack commissioning, post-installation inspection and documentation for potential insurance claims. The price difference then becomes apparent at the first breakdown.

What affects the installation price

The exact price only makes sense after an inspection. With us, it is free and non-binding.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does installation take?

A standard installation of a single unit takes one day. A multisplit system or piping through several rooms may take two days.

Do I need consent from the building's owners' association or the property owner?

If common areas are affected, facade, skylight, riser pipe, then yes. In a tenancy, the landlord's consent is always required.

Is air conditioning allowed in an apartment within a heritage zone?

Usually yes, but it depends on the location of the outdoor unit. Access to a courtyard, roof or skylight is typically possible; access to a street-facing facade is practically not.

Will you install a unit that I purchase myself?

Yes, but we will first check together whether it is suitable for the given space. For equipment purchased elsewhere, the product warranty is handled with the seller; we guarantee the installation.

Will I receive an inspection after installation?

Yes, after installation we will carry out a leak test and hand over the documentation. Subsequent periodic inspections are governed by the amount of refrigerant in the circuit.

Do you need to discuss this in detail?

Call us. We will review your units, assess their condition and advise on what makes sense.
